ABSTRACT

Mastocytosis is characterized by infiltration of mast cells to the tissues and includes a wide spectrum of clinical entities. Mast cells are instrumental in mediating anaphylaxis and patients with mastocytosis are at risk to develop provoked and unprovoked episodes of anaphylaxis. The clinical outcome may be bening or aggressive. Their perioperative management involves a multidisciplinary approach. In this case report, we present perioperative anesthetic management of a patient with mastocytosis.

Keywords: Mastocytosis, anaesthesia, anaphylaxis
